FAQS - Frequently Asked Questions - updated 19/02/2024

  • When is the next website shop update?

I am currently working on a small Ceremonial Rings collection which is being released on Wednesday 17th April at 7pm NZT 2024. This will include a range of Aotearoa gems in 9ct gold and 18ct gold. My website shop updates sell out quick as I only release a small amount of pieces so please make sure you are signed up to my newsletter to stay in the loop.

  • How do I get a bespoke piece?

I only take a very limited number of bespoke orders a year, this being due to the fact that I only work part-time (I have two little tamariki/children who get the rest of my time) and I also limit bespoke numbers so I can work on other pieces of jewels as well. As much as there is demand for my bespoke pieces I very much like to work in my own way and make other pieces as well. So to get a bespoke piece, you will need to apply when applications open up. This happens generally once a year and applications are only open for a couple of days. To stay in the loop with when this happens, the best way is to sign up to my newsletter (you will find the subscription form at the bottom of my homepage). I send out all of the details of what you need to have in your application. Then I go through all the applications and find the pieces that speak to me the most. It may be the style/design of ring you want made that I love and want to make or it might be the korero/story behind the piece that connects with me. This does mean that not every one who applies will have their bespoke piece made. I have found over the years, it’s overwhelming to have a continuous heavy workload and prefer the less is more method here. Crafting only pieces that I feel connected too, not just because I can but because I choose too with intention. Therefore making them even more of a taaonga.

  • When do you take bespoke orders?

Generally once a year. I am now closed/fully booked for 2024.

  • Do you have a waitlist or can I get in early?

No sorry, in the past my waitlist got way too long so I prefer to just work year by year. You also can’t ‘get in early’ as everyone has to go through the same application process. This makes it fair for everyone.

  • Do you sell ready made jewellery?

Yes I do. A couple of times a year I have small collection releases available on my website. These normally sell quite quickly so it’s always best to stay in the loop with when they happen. Signing up to my newsletter (subscription form is at the bottom of my homepage) or stay up to date with my instagram posts and stories. Collection releases often include: Roimata pendants and earrings, Tapatoru/triangle rings and pendants, ceremonial rings.

  • I want a pair of Roimata Earrings, how do I get a pair?

These are available only through my collection releases on my website, which happen a couple of times a year.

  • What is the price range of your work?

Each and every piece is priced differently but to give you a very general idea: Bespoke pieces start at (and go up from there) $850 for Sterling Silver, $2000 for 9kt Gold, $3000 for 18kt Gold.
